Tereza Červeňová
Tereza Červeňová is a visual artist working with photography. She was born in Slovakia and relocated to London in 2011. She received her BA in Photography from Middlesex University (2014), and her MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art (2018).

Červeňová’s work often juxtaposes delicate imagery with political and autobiographical references. She considers her practice to be inherently collaborative as it engages with intimate, social, and civil relationships. Tereza uses photography as a stage for exchanging ideas, sentiments, and experiences — a vision that she brings into her teaching practice as well.

With her photography, Tereza focuses on the (im)possibilities of various forms of belonging, freedoms, and boundaries, and more recently, on the interpersonal power hierarchies and their implications in intimate relationships.

Her work is included in the permanent collections of The National Portrait Gallery, John Kobal Foundation, TATE Artist’s Book Collection, Eton College’s Fine & Decorative Art Collection, and The UK Parliament.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Reframing Narratives: Women In Portraiture at the occasion of reopening and the rehang of the National Portrait Gallery in 2023; Glossary in Galerie Kandlhofer (2023) curated by Sacha Craddock as part of the festival curated by in Vienna, and Survey II - a nationwide exhibition led by Jerwood Arts presenting new commissions by ten of the most outstanding early-career artists in the UK in 2020.
